Calling ALL frustrated job seekers! No matter if you're a new graduate and this is your first job search, you're a Sr. Executive who hasn't looked for a job in 20+ years, or you have been a stay at home mom who is trying to get back into the workforce - this is for you! My name is Mike Maetz and I own Maetz Consulting, LLC - a boutique staffing firm in Marietta. Recruiting is my core business, but I also write professional resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and I offer 1 on 1 job search coaching.
I have a unique perspective as a recruiter to see how job seekers approach their search. From the poorly written resume to the forgotten LinkedIn profile to the lack of follow up, I see the same mistakes daily. Everyone seems to be following the same approach: apply for as many jobs as you can and when you don't get a callback, blame the resume. A great resume is important, but it's not all about the resume. There is so much more to a successful job search.
My story.....when I graduated from Auburn University in 1993, I thought I would get my degree and find a job right away. Isn't that how it's supposed to work? Well, three years later - I was waiting tables and bartending, I was embarrassed about my resume, I was convinced I wasn't hirable, and I had no clue how to find a job or even where to start. There is nothing wrong with working hard in the restaurant industry (I think everyone should at least once in their life), but it wasn't a career for me. My passion for starting my staffing firm and doing so much training and coaching - comes directly from my personal experience. I do not want ANYONE to feel that there is no help out there because there is! I want to pay it forward and help others, as there has been so many that have helped me throughout my career and especially during my soul-searching early years after college.
Finding a job is not easy, or fun. Any successful job search requires confidence, persistence, dedication, patience and very thick skin. BUT....it also requires a PLAN OF ATTACK. Without a plan, you can chase online job postings and never get anywhere.
My Job Search Boot Camp is a 6-hour, in-depth, comprehensive, A-Z "crash course" on everything you need to know to find a job in today's competitive market. No matter where you are in your search or where you are in your career, this class will cover it all.
